JOB TITLE: Regional Build Manager
JOB LOCATION: Cumbria
TERMS: Permanent, on-site
REQUIREMENTS: Local location or easily commutable to Cumbria, full driving license and accreditations.
THE JOB
The Regional Build Manager will be responsible for ensuring their teams achieve the monthly build targets for their geographic area of responsibility, and producing a high-quality Network build, built to specification whilst keeping disruption to a minimum for residents.
This role involves driving forward new projects within the region and requires a proactive and dynamic approach.
Locations include but not limited to Workington, Whitehaven and Penrith. You will be required to work on-site daily, so these roles would suit talent in and around the local areas above.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
- Proactively providing strong day to day leadership for a team of build supervisors responsible for delivery of the Fibrus network build programme
- Ensuring monthly build and budget targets are achieved for geographic area of responsibility.
- Strong day to day management of the construction activity and supervision of contract partner activities to ensure works are completed to Fibrus specifications and NRSWA and Chapter 8 requirements
- Working closely with planning and build partners to form a strong partnership and ensuring activities are aligned to achieve efficient build progress towards monthly and quarterly objectives
- First line of escalation and resolution of build related issues
- Ensure compliance with Openreach Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA) requirements
- Developing a customer centric approach with our build partners to minimise disruption to the public during our build activity
- Ensuring there is a strong focus on Health and Safety by all onsite and having a zero-tolerance approach on adherence to H&S requirements
- Recording daily works completed and completing reports as required
- Completing final snag and joint measure for invoicing
- Checking plans and seeking re-plans to reduce costs
WHAT WILL YOU BRING?
The ideal person will come from a telecommunications and civils background, experienced in managing the full resources of the network build.
- Proven experience of managing telecoms build projects including telecommunications and civils
- NRSWA accredited (supervisors course) with thorough knowledge of the NRSWA Specification for the reinstatement of openings in roads and Chapter 8 Traffic Signs Manual
- Knowledge of fibre cabling and splicing works
- Can demonstrate the ability to learn technical knowledge relating to products and services
- Experience working within a busy environment with shared responsibilities, a proactive approach and results focused
- Strong people skills and comfortable communicating across the company hierarchy
- Willing to travel across the North of England as the build progresses
- Full clean driving licence
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of the Physical Infrastructure (PIA) process
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- GIS experience
