The Job

JOB TITLE: Project Analyst

JOB LOCATION: Belfast, hybrid working (mix of home and office)

TERMS: 12 month FTC

 

 

THE JOB

The BDUK Project Team plays a key role in delivering government-funded projects across Northern Ireland and Great Britain. This new role within the team will be responsible for providing project support, managing public and government enquiries, analysing data, and producing high-quality reports to help inform decision-making and ensure the accurate forecasts and successful delivery of our projects.

 

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  • Supporting the BDUK Project Team with day-to-day project administration, governance, and tracking activities.
  • Managing and responding to project-related enquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring responses are accurate and timely.
  • Gathering and analysing data from multiple teams (e.g. Build, Finance, Planning) to support delivery assurance and compliance with BDUK reporting requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining project trackers, milestone logs and dashboards, highlighting key risks, issues, and progress updates.
  • Supporting the preparation of internal reports and executive updates, as well as external submissions to BDUK and other stakeholders.
  • Helping to maintain key project documentation including RAID logs, trackers, and change request registers.

 

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?

Essential

  • A strong team player, comfortable taking ownership of key deliverables.
  • A proven track record of supporting projects in a fast-paced or structured environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to spot trends in data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including use of formulas and pivot tables), with experience creating reports and presentations in PowerPoint.
  • Experience maintaining and managing RAID logs, ensuring risks and issues are proactively identified, assessed, monitored, and communicated to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Comfortable engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

 

Desirable

  • Experience in the Telecommunications sector or working on infrastructure delivery projects.
  • Familiarity with Excel, Power BI or other data visualisation tools.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) or public sector reporting requirements.
