The Job
- Building, maintaining, and testing automated GIS tools i.e. ArcGIS ModelBuilder, FME, ArcPy
- Updating and maintaining information held on GIS business systems
- Resolving systems and data interoperability issues i.e. opposing co-ordinate systems
- Liaising with external technical resources, e.g. OSNI, OSGB, ESRI, Openreach PIA, to resolve GIS compatibility issues
- Producing web-based maps, surveys, GIS applications, and dashboards
- Analysing, processing, and cleansing raw geospatial data from various sources into legible datasets
- Engaging key stakeholders on geospatial analytical outputs
- Creating technical documentation, guides, and providing training to both internal staff and external contractors
- Integrating other business systems
WHAT WILL YOU BRING?You will have the ability to work with minimal supervision in a busy and fast paced environmentExperience
- The ideal candidate will come from a GIS background, ideally with telco/utility network experience and will have a GIS related qualification and/or experience
- You will be experienced in the use of Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online/Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Enterprise
- You will have practical knowledge in automating and processing data workflows utilising various methods i.e. FME Workbench, FME Flow, Python/ArcPy, SQL
- Other opensource GIS skills are also desirable
- Knowledge of OSNI/OSGB suite of mapping products i.e. AddressBase, Pointer, MasterMap
- An understanding of fibre optics, PIA or BI applications would be advantageous
- Knowledge of surveying and/or field-based data capture would be ideal

- Highly numerate and literate, with excellent written and oral communication skills
- A self-motivated and highly professional team player with a flexible, yet structured approach
- Excellent analytical skills
- Able to work on own initiative with a logical approach to problem solving
- Strong IT skills. Proficient in MS Office applications
- Ability to produce documentation which is precise and concise in content
- Confident in giving presentations and facilitating workshops to colleagues, clients and suppliers at all different levels of the business hierarchy
- Successful candidates will demonstrate enthusiasm and a desire to broaden their knowledge and experience and will continually develop GIS skills and demonstrate self- learning aptitude
