Fibrus spreads festive joy by flying loved ones home for Christmas, reuniting families in emotional moments after years apart.
To celebrate reaching our 100,000-customer milestone we launched a nationwide competition to ‘fly a loved one home for Christmas’.
We had two lucky winners, one from Northern Ireland and one from Cumbria. There were hugs and tears all round when the families reconnected with their loved ones at the airport.
Our Northern Ireland winner, Ethan, flew home from New York to be reunited with his family after living away for 3 years. The Lennon family, from Newry, eagerly awaited the return of Ethan from Dublin Airport on Saturday 21st December.
Damian Lennon, Ethan’s father, said: “Getting Ethan home for Christmas is magical. We never in our wildest dreams thought this would happen as he wasn’t able to make plans to come home this year. His grandmother is beside herself with excitement, and it’s made her Christmas. Big thanks to Fibrus for making this Christmas miracle happen.”
Our Cumbrian winner was Tony, who flew home from Australia for an emotional family reunion. Following a health scare last year, Tony’s mum Christine was advised she would not be able to fly to Australia to see her son due to health risks.
Christine and husband Geoff embraced Tony in an emotional reunion when he flew into Manchester airport on 17th December, courtesy of Fibrus. The family has not been together for five years.
“It means the absolute world,” said Christine. “Honestly… there is no better present. It is so special, and we are all so grateful. We want to say thank you to Fibrus. Just being able to give him a hug… it’s unbelievable.”
Colin Hutchinson, CFO at Fibrus said: “So many families are apart at Christmas, and we know how much it means to spend precious time with loved ones at this time of year.”
“At Fibrus we are specialists when it comes to keeping people digitally connected. And this festive season we are delighted to go the extra mile by bringing two loved ones home in time for Christmas.”
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the team at Fibrus!
