Fibrus’ Economic and Social Impact Report 2025
We have launched our first economic impact report, which evaluates the impressive economic and social impact of our operations across Northern Ireland.

A word from our CEO, Dominic Kearns:
When Fibrus was founded five years ago, our sole purpose was to bring communities, homes and businesses a broadband service fit for everyday demands. For years, rural families and businesses across Northern Ireland were promised better – and we were the changemakers who turned that promise into a reality.
Thanks to Project Stratum, funded by the Department for the Economy, UK Government and DAERA , we have successfully delivered Full Fibre connectivity to almost 80,000 properties that had been left in the digital dark by the incumbent. This June, we will complete Project Stratum, the largest telecoms infrastructure project ever seen here, on time and within budget, changing the lives of those in rural communities and offering them the same opportunities as their urban counterparts.
We’ve proved that competition drives good outcomes for consumers and we’ve turned the broadband market on its head, resulting in a 94% connectivity rate for the region in just five years, making Northern Ireland a trailblazer for connectivity across the UK and Ireland. We’re not just another provider – we’re the #1 Full Fibre provider in our footprint.
This economic and social impact report lays out the real-world difference Project Stratum and Fibrus has made since our inception. It shows in no small terms that we aren’t just about faster internet speeds – we’re serious about driving economic growth, fostering connected communities and creating competition to ensure households get value for money and better customer service.
And we’re just getting started. As the Deloitte fastest-growing tech company in Northern Ireland and the second fastest across all of Ireland, we’re not just keeping up – we’re leading the charge. We’re on track to reach our ambitious target of 500,000 connectable premises in the next few years, while building on our strong momentum to grow our customer base to 200,000.
This report connects the dots between the investment for Project Stratum and the ongoing economic impact we’re making across Northern Ireland and beyond. Take a look – we think you’ll find the findings as exciting as we do…
