Role Responsibilities 


  • This role will see you taking lead on delivering key core network nodes across Northern Ireland, working to roll out one of the most exciting projects in the telecoms industry to date.
  • You will be involved in the end to end design, the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the core network – working closely with your team to configure, manage and trouble shoot network related issues.
  • This role will involve participation in the on-call support/escalation rota.


Key competencies 


  • Previous experience in large network roll-out's, taking an active lead engineering roll or be in a position to take the next step in your career
  • In depth knowledge of Juniper and Cisco routers (MX, SRX, AC)
  • A solid understanding of routing protocols (IPv6, MPLS etc)
  • Networking accreditation such as (CCNP, JNCIA)
  • GPON knowledge would be beneficial
  • A customer centric approach, taking pride in achieving the best mutual outcome for the customer and Fibrus

Role Responsibilities 


The role will see you supporting the roll out one of the most exciting projects in the telecoms industry to date.


You will be involved in supporting our FTTP deployments across Northern Ireland, the role will be actively supporting Installations as well as troubleshooting end user technical faults.


This role will involve participation in the On-Call Rota.


Key competencies

 

  • 1+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • A solid understanding of networking principles and protocols (IPv4, IPv6, VLANs) 
  • An understanding of Wi-Fi protocols
  • Ticket and fault management 
  • GPON knowledge would be beneficial

The Role


This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow and develop their networking career in the telecoms sector.

You will be joining a team of experienced engineers delivering key core network nodes across Northern Ireland, working to roll out one of the most exciting projects in the telecoms industry to date.


This role will involve participation in the on-call support/escalation rota.


Key Competencies:


  • Experience in large network roll-out's, including working on a core network
  • 2yrs+ Cisco experience (active configuration and maintenance, including reading and writing Cisco scripts)
  • Experience working on multi-site networking
  • A basic understanding of GPON and MPLS would be advantageous


Skill Development Opportunity:

The Role:

  • Supporting the department in the delivery of projects and programmes by way of investigating business functions, business processes, data structures, information flows, etc.
  • Investigations of operational issues and problems and seeking effective business solutions through improvements in specified business areas or systems
  • Specifying data, data objects and information flows that align with business needs
  • Production of business analysis deliverables using relevant documentation styles such as Business Requirements Doc, Specification Doc, Test Plans, Support Scripts, etc.
  • Facilitation of workshops and meetings for stakeholders to gather requirements and document process flows
  • Colleague assistance by way of analysis of underlying issues and their root causes to identify available options for consideration


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Experience working in an agile team with SCRUM methodology
  • Work with the Head of System Development to ensure that a level of best practice within the business is defined, documented, and implemented.


Skills and Ability:

  • A high level of concentration and a good eye for detail is essential.
  • Self-motivated and high customer-value work ethic.
  • Ability to own workstreams within a project plan and effectively plan and track delivery
  • Takes pride in achieving best mutual outcome for our customers and the business.
  • Ability to listen to and influence senior stakeholders and colleagues
  • Proven experience gathering and documenting systems / software requirements (functional + non-functional)
  • Strong working knowledge of manual / automated recording tools, i.e. data models, class diagrams, etc.
  • Knowledge of performing proof of concept / prototyping exercises
  • Exceptional organisational skills and an excellent communicator


Experience:

  • At least 3 years’ experience as Business Analyst
  • A proven background in delivering projects through Agile and Waterfall
  • Highly Proficient with MS Office Applications
  • Experience working within Telecommunications is advantageous


Essential:

  • Knowledge of business processes, analyst frameworks and business requirements methodologies
  • Ability to work autonomously and with a small development team.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Business / Systems analysis qualification


Desired:

  • Experience working with Jira
  • ISO9001 Document control


Advantageous:

  • PRINCE2 qualification
  • eTOM or similar business process framework
  • Project management experience
