The Regional Build Manager will be responsible for ensuring their teams achieve the monthly build targets for their geographic area of responsibility, and producing a high-quality Network build, built to specification whilst keeping disruption to a minimum for residents.

The Role / Responsibilities

  • Key responsibilities for the Regional Build Manager:
  • Providing strong day to day leadership for a team of Delivery Managers responsible for delivery of the Fibrus network build programme
  • Owns the overall delivery of all end to end customer outcomes and high-quality services, delivering to time, cost and quality in your area.
  • Providing weekly progress, budget resources and forecasting
  • Strong day to day management of the construction activity in geographic area of responsibility
  • Accountable for creating a safe working environment with a zero-incident mentality and implementing the appropriate governance to ensure all health and safety and working time checks are completed to the required timescale and quality.
  • Responsible for dealing with any non- compliance safety issues to prevent re-occurrence and continually auditing the safety checks carried out by their team.
  • Drive compliance and any other regulatory measures that may apply
  • Ensuring works are completed to Fibrus specifications and NIRAUC requirements.
  • Manage NISRAN CAT A/B/C defects and non-compliance.
  • Ensure all work sites are to Chapter 8 requirements.
  • Fully understand and implement the company safety policy and procedures
  • To ensure planning and build partners are aligned to achieve efficient build progress towards monthly and quarterly objectives
  • Working closely with our build and planning partners to form a strong working partnership on site.
  • Manage client relationships internal and external 
  • Accountable for ensuring the effective and swift resolution of customer escalations and complaints and for the overall reduction of these within area 
  • Ensure compliance with Openreach Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA) requirements.
  • Developing a customer centric approach with our build partners to minimise disruption to the public during our build activity
  • Completing final snag and joint measure for invoicing.
  • Checking plans and seeking for re-plans to reduce costs.
  • Responsible for leading and implementing change and transformation initiatives within their patch.

Experience

  • Five years’ experience of supervising telecoms build projects.
  • NRSWA accredited (supervisors’ course)
  • Thorough knowledge of the NIRAUC Specification for the reinstatement of openings in roads.
  • Thorough knowledge of Chapter 8 Traffic Signs Manual.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to learn technical knowledge relating to products and services
  • Experience working within a busy environment with shared responsibilities
  • Good people skills and comfortable communicating across the company hierarchy
  • Willing to travel anywhere in Northern Ireland as the build progresses
  • Clean driving licence


Desirable

  • Knowledge of fibre cabling and splicing works.
  • Have knowledge of the Physical Infrastructure (PIA) process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • CAD/GIS experience.

Fibrus have been selected to deliver the NI Department for the Economy Project Stratum programme which provides public funding of £165m and will deliver Full Fibre Hyperfast Broadband to communities across NI over the next 4 years.

The Role


  • You will be responsible for the following areas and activities:
  • Managing a team of in house supervisors and subcontractor technicians who will be responsible for undertaking fibre to the home (FTTH) customer installations and repair 
  • Establish a set of business processes to ensure a smooth customer journey for installation and repair that will deliver an outstanding customer experience 
  • Maintain a high level of KPI’s for the department and track performance against them ensuring any underperforming metrics are resolve.
  • Act as senior local escalation contact for customer complaints and resolution.
  • Ensure that sufficient resource is available to meet the daily installation and repair work schedule.
  • Proactively and consistently review customer install calendars to ensure full order capacity is both offered and booked.
  • Establish a robust process to ensure contract performance levels are maintained and ensure any performance issues are addressed through get well plans
  • Ensure sub-contract resource adhere to contract specifications and established policies and procedures
  • Conduct on site assessments of quality and workmanship of the installer and repair technicians 
  • Partner with Technical Training and Safety Manager to ensure your team is well trained and safe in all field interactions.
  • Working with the purchasing function ensure that sufficient stock of all required materials for installation and maintenance are available to meet the demand profile
  • Working with the stores function ensure that sufficient controls are in place to monitor and manage install and service material usage 
  • All other duties assigned by manager



The person 

You will be able to work in a busy and fast paced environment and will have be able to develop a process that will allow for the best customer experience in a high paced environment. ** Customer focus is key 



Experience

  • Proven track record of managing a field-based team in a fast paced, customer-oriented environment
  • Proven track record of managing sub-contracted or outsourced teams
  • Proven track record of delivering an exceptional customer experience in a service-based industry
  • Ability to manage and prioritise deadlines and capable to foresee and eradicate future problems

  • Experience in managing resources for demand profiles

  • Telecoms experience desired but not essential
  • Educated to BTEC standard. (or equivalent)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Network Delivery with significant experience on Telecoms projects to oversee our network rollout. 


Location: Northern Ireland


The Role/ Responsibilities


  • Providing strong day to day leadership for a team of build managers and supervisors responsible for delivery of the Fibrus network build programme ensuring each member has clear targets, objectives, and responsibilities
  • Strong day to day management of the construction activity across the projects you are responsible for to ensure that monthly, quarterly, annual build and budget targets are achieved
  • Ensure the necessary process and controls are in place and being adhered to, so that all contract partner activities comply with company, legal and statutory requirements
  • Ensuring there is a strong focus on Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality by all onsite and having a zero-tolerance approach on adherence to HSEQ requirements
  • Ensure compliance with Openreach Physical Infrastructure Access (PIA) requirements.
  • Ensure planning and build partners are aligned and working in a collaborative partnership approach to achieve efficient build progress towards monthly and quarterly objectives
  • Ensure all projects have the necessary and correct resource allocated to deliver on the key objectives.
  • Liaise with Finance Heads to ensure the necessary cost controls are in place and build costs are being managed within budget 
  • Developing a customer centric approach with our build partners to minimise disruption to the public during our build activity
  • Deal with escalation and resolution of build related issues
  • Manage key internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of the build.
  • Continuously drive efficiency, review quality performance implementing necessary actions
  • Providing weekly progress, budget resources and forecasting

The Person

  • An authentic leader with extensive construction and operational experience management experience within a target driven, customer facing environment
  • Strong track record at building, managing, and influencing stakeholders’ relationships.
  • Highly analytical and structured approach with first class critical thinking. Able to translate complex data into business insights and drive action plans.
  • Strong knowledge of the Openreach Fibre network delivery process, end to end systems and products.


Experience

  • Significant experience in a similar role of managing the rollout of major infrastructure projects, ideally in a telecoms environment
  • Experienced leader with proven track record in leading teams and delivering against project and business targets.
  • Experienced leader with proven track record in leading teams and ability to deliver against operational targets.
  • Confident leadership skills – including people management and engagement
  • Experience working within a busy environment with shared responsibilities

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction or building science.
  • Have knowledge of the Physical Infrastructure (PIA) process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • PMP, MICE or Prince 2 accreditation
