Additionally, you will have the responsibility to ensure each area design yields the maximum number of premises passed possible within the cost guidelines for the project.

The Role / Responsibilities


This role is ideal for someone with previous Fibre Planning and Fibre Design experience. Our Planning teams are responsible for design activities associated with Fibrus FTTP/Commercial and rural network design. 


This role will focus on producing a technical design and authorising change control from existing plans and updating them as necessary which will contain enough detailed and validated information about a build area to give increased confidence in build and cost accuracy. You would be co-ordinating with our build team and our planning partners to update the necessary change on time so that our contractors’ network with minimal change and maximum efficiency. The role will also require ownership on build area by working on any changes to the design post the start of build.


The role will be a mix of office-based desktop design using GIS tools (ESRI) and in the field surveying work, walking routes and completing concept designs before turning these into technical network design packs. We are therefore keen to speak to those with an understanding of fibre and civils in FTTP builds, such as trench lines, prime cabinet locations and placements and the challenges faced with overcoming Special Engineering Difficulties (SEDs). 


  • A good appreciation or experience of Fibre Surveying and associated splicing and network understanding practicalities would be preferable however we will also consider those that have FTTH / FTTP related experience with a sound IT background. 
  • Knowledge of splitters and single mode fibre deployment.
  • Integrate within the various departments within the business so that they will understand the processes involved from HLD/LLD/Construction Phase/Commissioning/Sales hand over/Customer Service Provision to drive consistency, quality, suitability and cost-effectiveness with every design and build.
  • Production of reactive desktop designs and feasibilities to leverage new opportunities
  • If necessary, produce construction & cabling work packages for internal and/or external teams
  • Ensure that all works comply with guidelines and relevant codes of practice.
  • Work with the Project Manager to deliver project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders, internal, external, local authorities to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the infrastructure and react to any changes necessary
  • Design and maintain accurate systems to support the planning process


The Person


The ideal person will come from a telecoms background coupled with extensive planning experience – previous experience working for a major UK telecom company would be an advantage.

The Role / Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for the Delivery Manager:

We are looking for an experienced Construction Director with significant experience in rolling out major infrastructure projects ideally in a telecoms environment to lead our Network Construction division. The Role / Responsibilities

  • As Construction Director you will be responsible for the following:
  • To effectively manage the company’s Construction function to ensure best practices are followed, costs are controlled, quality standards are achieved, and delivery timescales are met.
  • To effectively manage health, safety, environmental and quality, ensuring legal compliance and maintenance of company standard for all construction projects.
  • To lead the construction team ensuring each member has clear targets, objectives, and responsibilities, progressively monitoring their individual performance against the agreed criteria and conducting formal appraisals in keeping with time frames.
  • In conjunction with executive management, develop and execute a build programme that supports achievement of the company’s medium to long term business performance objectives. 
  • Ensuring all build programmes have the necessary project plans and controls in place to effectively track project progress and critical path activities, ensuring that mitigation plans are in place to deal with risks and issues identified.
  • Ensuring all projects have the necessary and correct resource allocated to deliver on the key objectives.
  • Ensuring all necessary reporting is in place to track progress and performance against agreed targets.
  • Develop and manage an effective partnering culture with our sub-contractors to ensure collaborative effort is applied across the projects.
  • Liaise with Finance and Legal heads on the appointment of suitable sub-contractor partners, ensuring these relationships comply with company contract policies and guidelines.
  • Liaise with Finance Heads to ensure the necessary cost controls are in place and build costs are being managed within budget.
  • Deal with the escalation of contract disputes and ensure that Contract and Technical Teams follow all agreed control procedures.
  • Prepare papers for Company Board Pack, present at Executive and Board Meetings, and be involved in discussing and influencing all aspects of the Fibrus network build programmes.

The Role:

You will be responsible for the following core areas and activities:

  • Updating and maintaining the information held on our GIS business systems
  • Resolving issues that arise between different data layers and opposing co-ordinate systems across the applications utilised in the business
  • Producing survey maps to support the survey team, checking subsequent survey packs for completeness and alignment with the Network Plan
  • Publishing online maps and data which can be viewed and shared within the organisation or with the public
  • Survey areas that have incomplete or missing GIS or Telecoms Physical Infrastructure data
  • Capturing asset data using a combination of paper-based mapping and tablets with ESRI ArcGIS software
  • Identifying asset types and dimensions and recording them accurately
  • Assist in the maintenance of up to date and accurate records of all network inventory from the Fibrus build programme
  • Support with the upkeep and management of data used in Fibrus GIS products
  • Support Senior GIS Technician as and when required


The Person:

You will have the ability to work with minimal supervision in a busy and fast paced environment


Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will be passionate to pursue a career in GIS and may come from a GIS/CAD/BIM background
  • You will be experienced in the use of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro, web GIS in ArcGIS Online/ Portal for ArcGIS
  • Other open source GIS/CAD/BIM skills are also desirable
  • You will have experience in a variety of data sources and data formats and using Arcade, Python, ModelBuilder & Dynamo
  • Knowledge of Ordnance Survey suite of mapping products beneficial

This is a really exciting opportunity for a Head of PIA with significant experience on large Telecoms projects to oversee our projects. This is a critical role in which you will be responsible for leading and transforming teams.

The Role / Responsibilities

  • Continue to strengthen Fibrus relationship with OR.
  • Work with industry to drive the PIA product forward.
  • Understand the legal and regulatory environment within PIA.
  • Drive compliance and any other regulatory measures that may apply.
  • Compliance with Openreach PIA agreement & engineering principles.
  • Responsible for the administration of PIA - NA’s and NOI’s
  • Collating various data inputs into PIA and producing dashboards.
  • Jeopardy management – auditing nois /build completes, etc. Identifying issues and creating solutions with PIA Project Manager and/or OR.
  • Work with the build management to ensure all operatives are PIA compliant.
  • Working with parties outside PIA – liaising with OR/Contractors/Planners etc. to improve processes and address any issues/find solutions.
  • Communicating any changes to Product Description/Engineering principles.
  • Tracking progress against targets/ build plans. Ensuring Trackers and reports are fit for purpose and updated regularly to ensure accuracy of the information.
  • Establishes the priorities and determine resource allocation for the effective and efficient delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Reviewing the engineering and architectural drawings for ensuring that all regulations and specifications are being followed.
  • Supervising immediate subordinates to manage staff and schedules that are related to the daily issues of a project.
  • Reviewing progress reports, checking on reported difficulties and correcting any PIA violation or other deficiencies.
  • Ability to handle all the challenges that relate to PIA.
  • Deal with several issues simultaneously that demand pertinent attention or recommendations.
  • Successful delivery of operational requirements and KPIs
  • Continuously drive efficiency, review quality performance implementing necessary actions
  • Management of multiple work streams and resources to deliver high quality PIA access.
  • Enable the team to deliver on time and to budget through robust, high quality management process 
  • Addressing risk mitigation.


Experience

  • Extensive experience working with PIA (Physical Infrastructure (PIA) process.)
  • Experienced leader with proven track record in leading teams and ability to deliver against operational targets.
  • Experience working within a busy environment with shared responsibilities
  • Good people skills and comfortable communicating across the company hierarchy
  • Proven track record in delivering site projects with experience of managing budgets
  • Strong Relationship Management and Leadership skills
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to present to senior management, clients and stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience of method statements and risk assessments
  • An awareness and priority on health and safety
  • Significant Project or Programme delivery experience, within the telecommunications industry

You will be joining the team leading the future of Fibrus.


As a Fibre Planner you will be working on new and existing design projects as Fibrus rolls out its FTTH network across N. Ireland. Working with the Planning Manager you will have responsibility for ensuring our design partners produce fibre designs that are compliant with our agreed network architecture guidelines and contain the necessary detailed information to ensure build and cost accuracy. Additionally, you will have the responsibility to ensure each area design yields the maximum number of premises passed possible within the cost guidelines for the project.


We need a self-motivated individual with a keen eye for detail, who can work both on their own and as part of a team, liaising with both engineers and senior staff.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ownership of FTTH network design from survey to design to build and into maintenance
  • Overseeing outputs from our design partners to ensure they meet architectural guidelines and contain the necessary information to ensure build and cost accuracy
  • Working alongside design partner optimising designs to ensure maximum yield of premises passed by our fibre network within the cost per home budget
  • To drive consistency, quality, suitability and cost-effectiveness with every design and build
  • Production of reactive desktop designs and feasibilities to leverage new opportunities
  • If necessary, produce construction & cabling work packages for internal and/or external teams
  • Ensure that all works comply with guidelines and relevant codes of practice
  • Work with the Project Manager to deliver project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders, internal, external, local authorities to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the infrastructure and react to any changes necessary
  • Design and maintain accurate systems to support the planning process



The Person

  • The perfect person may be a recent university graduate or trade school graduate who has experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Engineering (electrical, telecoms, architectural, mechanical, software, etc), or any other computer or IT based studies.
  • Telecoms experience is not a prerequisite and will be sufficiently trained by Fibrus personnel prior to the role fully commencing.

  • Strong computer knowledge and troubleshooting mindset
  • Full driving licence highly preferable but not essential.
